Author Archer Butcher Speaks about Inner Guidance at Spiritual Seminar

Are You Looking for a Sign from God? For those who have ever answered, “yes,” celebrated author and featured guest speaker Anne Archer Butcher will be sharing her experiences and insights at the Eckankar in New Jersey’s annual seminar on Saturday, May 16, 12:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Hotel Woodbridge at Metropark, 120 Wood Avenue, South, Iselin, NJ.

Anne is an award-winning writer, businesswoman, and member of the Eckankar clergy who speaks at both domestic and international events. Her new book, Inner Guidance: Our Divine Birthright, is filled with her edge-of-your-seat stories about daily miracles and out-of-body experiences. Anne Archer Butcher was swept out to sea and miraculously rescued by dolphins. She was cast out of her body in a near death experience after a head-on collision with a truck. She fought malaria and won. Anne candidly shares the divine guidance she has received that helped her in her spiritual quest and offers her experiences “…in the hope they will show people the way to their own stories.” In turn, her stories have helped others connect to the spiritual tools available to all.

Throughout the ordeals, adventures, and profound experiences, the author received clear and reliable inner guidance that helped her survive and thrive. Her book has helped others recognize and validate their own personal inner guidance and spiritual experiences. Anne says, “. . . That’s why I wrote this book—to show how I learned about inner guidance through the fascinating teachings of Eckankar.”

Anne will be conducting an Inner Guidance workshop from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., sharing her personal experiences with Divine Spirit. Anne says, “Inner guidance is an exceptional spiritual tool. It opens the door of the heart to divine assistance, like having the wisest person in the world at our shoulder, helping with every decision. Who wouldn’t want that?”

This talk is for those interested in tools to help conquer fears, resolve karmic ties, face challenges with ease, enhance inner guidance, recognize daily miracles and live a more spiritually oriented life. Anne will share techniques that anyone can use to enhance their connection with God and find the wealth of guidance and direction in their lives. Book signings by Anne will follow both her afternoon workshop and evening main talk. Copies of her book will be available for purchase. If you are a seeker of truth and would like to learn more about how each of us is connected to God through Divine Spirit, Eckankar offers simple techniques to find spiritual freedom in this lifetime. In addition to the workshop, talks and creative arts throughout the seminar can help you learn how dreams connect your inner and outer spiritual life, how to become a master of your own life, and direct ways to connect with your true spiritual self and inner guidance. This year’s topics include Recognizing Our Gifts in Life, Dreams—Guidance for Everyday Life, and Hearing the Voice of God. The seminar’s open house forum allows seekers to come and go as they please throughout the day, or spend time in the Spiritual Experiences Room, a casual, café-like atmosphere where guests can share experiences and learn from others in an uplifting and loving environment.

This free event is open to all seekers of all ages, with youth and young adult activities available for ages 5-25. Other highlights include original art displays and slide shows, plus a wide range of informational materials and books for sale in our book room. Seekers can also learn about singing HU, a simple technique that opens the heart to the deep spiritual potential within each of us.

Similar to other traditions that use prayer, singing HU—an ancient name for God—can bring greater happiness, love and understanding to those who desire spiritual love, freedom, wisdom and truth. Regardless of your beliefs or religion, you can sing HU to become happier and more secure in God’s love. Come listen to the sound of HU, or join others in singing this love song to God. It has helped people of many different faiths open their hearts more fully to the uplifting presence of God.

Eckankar is a non-profit religious organization with members around the world. It is not affiliated with any other religious group, and its purpose is to help individuals find their way back to God through direct, personal spiritual experiences. This year’s seminar in May will bring ECKists—those who study the ECK teachings—and seekers together in search of ways to embrace the spiritual divinity that is within all of us.

Are You Looking for a Sign From God? is free for those new to the teachings of Eckankar. For more information, visit eckankar-nj.org, email [email protected], or call 800-870-9139. Tick Talk

Spring officially sprung on March 21. We have turned our clocks ahead. We are looking forward to warm winds, sunny skies and the smell of fresh cut grass. The daffodils and tulips have recently bloomed and we are just starting with the yard work that comes with the warmer weather.  Sadly, another season has started ramping up.  Tick season.

•             The best form of protection is prevention. Educating oneself about tick activity and how our behaviors overlap with tick habitats is the first step.

•             According to the NJ DOH, in 2022 Hunterdon County led the state with a Lyme disease incidence rate of 426 cases per 100,000 people. The fact is ticks spend approximately 90% of their lives not on a host but aggressively searching for one, molting to their next stage or over-wintering. This is why a tick remediation program should be implemented on school grounds where NJ DOH deems high risk for tick exposure and subsequent attachment to human hosts.

•             Governor Murphy has signed a bill that mandates tick education in NJ public schools. See this for the details.  Tick education must now be incorporated into K-12 school curriculum. See link:

•             May is a great month to remind the public that tick activity is in full swing. In New Jersey, there are many tickborne diseases that affect residents, including Anaplasmosis, Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis, Lyme disease, Powassan, and Spotted Fever Group Rickettsiosis.

•             For years, the focus has mainly been about protecting ourselves from Lyme disease. But other tick-borne diseases are on the rise in Central Jersey. An increase of incidence of Babesia and Anaplasma are sidelining people too. These two pathogens are scary because they effect our blood cells. Babesia affects the red blood cells and Anaplasma effects the white blood cells.

•             Ticks can be infected with more than one pathogen. When you contract Lyme it is possible to contract more than just that one disease. This is called a co-infection. It is super important to pay attention to your symptoms. See link.
