Continuing Education Courses at Gentle Healing Massage School

Gentle Healing School has announced its roster of certification and continuing education courses that begin in January. They include Shiatsu Level I, Introduction to Reflexology, Dry Brush Exfoliation, Introduction to Qigong and Detoxifying Stone Massage.

An Introduction to Reflexology runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., January 11 and 12, and is eligible for 16 continuing education credits. Students learn to work with trigger points on the hands and feet that can relieve pain for clients that cannot receive massage directly on an area in need of attention.

Dry Brush Exfoliation is a short course, running from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., January 26, and earning just four continuing education credits. The class will cover the reasons for full body exfoliation, proper use and care of a natural-fiber bristle bush and how to execute a full body dry brush routine.

Introduction to Qigong takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., February 8 and 9, and is eligible for 16 continuing education credits. Qigong is an ancient Chinese system of mind and body health that uses slow gentle movements, breath awareness, mental concentration and physical relaxation to promote the flow of qi, the vital life force.

Detoxifying Stone Massage is another course eligible for 16 CEs. It runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., February 3 and 4, and demonstrates the benefits, precautions, contraindications and proper application of hot and cold stones during a massage.
