The studio was created to instill a sense of community and to allow Yoga to be accessible to anyone at any stage of their life or level of fitness. We welcome and encourage beginners as well as the more advanced student. At the studio, our focus is on alignment and safety but more importantly, adapting to the individual student. “Our bodies are all different, and so our Yoga practice will be unique to our body” says Paula Cauvin, owner of Full Circle Yoga. We offer intimate size classes that allow our teachers to focus on the individual needs of the student. Students are encouraged to bring their focus inward through breath and meditation which brings about feelings of peace of mind and a general well being. Through movement and balance, Yoga helps students find their bodies’ full potential of their own personal strength and flexibility, which helps to increase self confidence.  Full Circle Yoga & Wellness has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, and we hope that this allows students the opportunity to reduce stress and encourage overall health and wellness for the body and mind. [show_hide title="Read studio profile ..."]Over 25 years ago, Julie Shaw’s long drive to work resulted in back pain. She looked up “yoga” in the Yellow Pages and stepped into far more than an exercise class. After years of personal practice and professional training, Shaw now teaches in the traditon of Viniyoga, and is the only Certified Viniyoga™ Therapist in New Jersey (Viniyoga.com). She teaches group yoga classes and sees private clients. Viniyoga is a breath-centered practice. “The breath is the starting point in any yoga practice, because it brings us into the present moment,” says Shaw. “When we move our bodies in concert with our breath, the brain focuses, the nervous system relaxes, and our entire system recalibrates. People always say they feel great at the end of class. I remind them it’s because they just spent the last hour breathing!” Shaw’s classes are suitable for all levels of experience. She designs her classes in 6-week series, like “Understanding Your Spine,” or “Yoga for Computer Users.” She is known for bringing a color-coded model of a spine to class. “When students see the lumbar, sacrum and pelvis on a model, they begin to understand their own structure and movement patterns. Just being aware of how you move can often prompt meaningful change,” explains Shaw. Additionally, Shaw specializes in working with individuals dealing with health conditions ranging from structural conditions to chronic illness to anxiety/depression. This work draws on both the yoga and ayurveda traditions. Shaw designs individual therapeutic practices based on a client’s condition, outlook, needs and interests. “There is a deep well of healing available to each of us within our own hearts; yoga offers a roadmap to finding that well.”[/show_hide]

SUPATHA YOGA

205 Harrison Street, Frenchtown 908-996-YOGA (9642) SupathaYoga.com Yoga Month Special: Free Beginner Yoga classes on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m.

[show_hide title="Read studio profile ..."]The Supatha Yoga method was uniquely inspired by Sri Lakshmi Devi’s many years of practice, her comprehensive study in anatomy and physiology, her broad training in Yoga sciences and extensive background in the health and fitness industry. The Supatha Yoga Method features a 1/4 Series Flow, a methodology which utilizes 13 tradi-tional Yoga poses arranged in specific sequences. Each posture is designed to flow naturally from one pose into the next with clear, precise instructions focusing on proper structural align-ment. Lakshmi states “Transitions between poses are as important as the postures themselves.” The movements are balanced and physiologically sound to prevent injury. The sequences can be adapted for anyone depending on their particular strengths or health challenges, in individual or family sessions. Sri Devi describes her approach as “well rounded, with a noteworthy touch of edginess to keep it grounded in reality.” Lakshmi expresses “I want to provide a joyful, nurturing, non-competitive space for students to embrace their practice, embrace themselves, grow, stretch and gain vitality… and maybe laugh a little along the way. I strive to help actualize my students in their own process and paths to themselves.”[/show_hide]
