River Valley Waldorf School Open House

“If you’ve had the experience of binding a book, knitting a sock, playing a recorder, then you feel that you can build a rocket ship—or learn a software program you’ve never touched. It’s not bravado, just a quiet confidence. There is nothing you can’t do. Why couldn’t you? Why couldn’t anybody?“ —Peter Nitze, Waldorf & Harvard Graduate, and aerospace company director.

On Saturday, March 7, 10:00 a.m., River Valley Waldorf School is open for families to experience and learn more about Waldorf education and the community. The school offers parent-child classes, and welcomes students from Pre-K through Grade 8.

Developed by Rudolf Steiner in 1919, Waldorf education is based on a profound understanding of human development that addresses the needs of the growing child. Waldorf teachers transform education into an art that engages the whole child—their heart and their hands, as well as their head.

For Waldorf students, music, nature, theater, writing , science, math, literature, legends and myths are not simply subjects to be read about, ingested and tested. They are experienced. Through these experiences, Waldorf students cultivate a lifelong love of learning as well as the intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual capacities to be individuals engaged with the peo-ple and with the world around them.
