Thank You for Participating in the Flemington Health and Wellness Day!

My gratitude extends to all of the folks who participated in the Flemington Health and Wellness Day that took place on Saturday, February 7. Despite the chilly temperatures, people visited more than 25 local businesses. Individual professionals and businesses offered free services ranging from ionic foot baths, massages, acupuncture, karate, yoga, group counseling, and classes on developing vision boards and healthy cooking.

The positive vibes were evident all day throughout this small community; it was a huge success. Plus, people won a lot of terrific raffle prizes sponsored by local businesses.

The evening ended with inspirational TED Talks, which were viewed at the historic courthouse. Over 60 individuals showed up to listen to a positively thoughtful dialogue by a group of local experts in the fields of education, nutrition, sustainability and community activism.  The Talks were inspiring and the commentary by the panel lingered in my mind.

Will Richardson, the moderator, asked provocative questions and kept the audience engaged throughout the night. I received an email on Monday from a health and wellness business participant and resident which read “It felt like a real community event and I was happy to participate both as a business member and a resident.”

The Flemington Health and Wellness Committee is committed to building a healthy community. Bring your creative ideas, energy and input and join us as we plan for our next event!
