Bring Your Deepest Prayers to Life Through Conscious Movement

Sayrah Garrison is a social worker and an accredited 5Rhythms® dance teacher, teaching since 2014. Her own recovery journey from alcoholism and chronic anxiety led her to discover this transformative movement practice in 2001 when she was living and working in NYC.
Created by Gabrielle Roth, the 5Rhythms is a conscious dance practice rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion it will heal itself. The 5Rhythms are Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness®. These Rhythms are a movement map that, when practiced, allow us to get grounded in our bodies, express our hearts and clear our minds so that our true essence can come forth effortlessly. It is a dynamic moving meditation that nourishes mind, body and spirit!
Sayrah is excited to be expanding her offerings to Montclair this month. Beginning Friday, September 11, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., and ongoing 1st Fridays, except when noted, Sayrah will be offering a foundational Waves level 5Rhythms class at Elevated Wellness + Movement Studio in Montclair/Verona. Beginning Saturday, September 12, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. and ongoing 2nd Saturdays, she will be offering a Sweat Your Prayers® (minimal instruction) class at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Montclair. She also teaches weekly online via ZOOM and every third Sunday in Brookside, NJ.
Please join us for an opportunity to bring your deepest prayers to life through conscious movement, while being in community with others. There are no steps to learn. We are a sober space and the only requirements to participate is an open mind and a willingness to move your body. All ages and abilities welcome!
