What is Intimacy Coaching? By Olga Ribble

May 09, 2025 02:02PM ● By Jerome Bilaos

In a world where genuine connection and intimacy is often a challenge, intimacy coaching is an effective way to build deeper and meaningful relationships. As an intimacy coach, I help individuals and couples develop deeper, more fulfilling connections by addressing issues like communication, emotional connection, and sexual well-being. I provide guidance, resources, and a safe space for exploring intimacy, empowering clients to have open and honest conversations about their desires, boundaries, and needs.

Many of us navigate adulthood without ever having received an education on intimacy and sexuality. Traditional education often focuses on the mechanics of sex, neglecting the emotional and spiritual dimensions that are crucial for a fulfilling relationship. This lack of guidance leaves individuals and couples ill-equipped to communicate desires, set boundaries, and explore their sexuality in a healthy, informed way. Holistic Intimacy Coaching fills this gap, offering a safe space to learn, unlearn, and rediscover the richness of intimacy and sexuality.

Intimacy coaching is not therapy. Coaching focuses on practical guidance and action-oriented strategies for improving physical intimacy, while therapy delves into deeper emotional and psychological issues where you are being nurtured, “fixed”, or healed from past difficulties. While books, videos, and couple’s therapy offer valuable insights, they often fall short in providing hands-on experiences for true transformation.

Holistic Intimacy Coaching bridges this gap, offering a safe and exclusive environment for couples to learn essential intimacy skills such as:

Guided Communication Practices: Step-by-step conversations that help couples navigate emotions and vulnerability, deepening their connection.

Guided Touch Practices: Techniques that create opportunities for emotional and physical responses, encouraging exploration in a safe environment.

In-Depth Sex Education: Insights tailored to each couple’s unique situation, through conversation, visual using models and images, and resources.

Scientifically Proven Practices: Boosting bonding hormones like oxytocin, testosterone and estrogen, strengthening connection and bonding.

Understanding Differences: Male and Female emotional and physical differences, their unique “Love Languages” and blueprints.

The secret to deeper intimacy lies in the excitement of exploring new experiences and embracing the journey of learning and practicing these skills. Couples who are open to trying new things can unlock a world of connection and passion, transforming their relationship into a more fulfilling and adventurous partnership.

Tick Talk

Spring officially sprung on March 21. We have turned our clocks ahead. We are looking forward to warm winds, sunny skies and the smell of fresh cut grass. The daffodils and tulips have recently bloomed and we are just starting with the yard work that comes with the warmer weather.  Sadly, another season has started ramping up.  Tick season.

•             The best form of protection is prevention. Educating oneself about tick activity and how our behaviors overlap with tick habitats is the first step.

•             According to the NJ DOH, in 2022 Hunterdon County led the state with a Lyme disease incidence rate of 426 cases per 100,000 people. The fact is ticks spend approximately 90% of their lives not on a host but aggressively searching for one, molting to their next stage or over-wintering. This is why a tick remediation program should be implemented on school grounds where NJ DOH deems high risk for tick exposure and subsequent attachment to human hosts.

•             Governor Murphy has signed a bill that mandates tick education in NJ public schools. See this for the details.  Tick education must now be incorporated into K-12 school curriculum. See link:

•             May is a great month to remind the public that tick activity is in full swing. In New Jersey, there are many tickborne diseases that affect residents, including Anaplasmosis, Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis, Lyme disease, Powassan, and Spotted Fever Group Rickettsiosis.

•             For years, the focus has mainly been about protecting ourselves from Lyme disease. But other tick-borne diseases are on the rise in Central Jersey. An increase of incidence of Babesia and Anaplasma are sidelining people too. These two pathogens are scary because they effect our blood cells. Babesia affects the red blood cells and Anaplasma effects the white blood cells.

•             Ticks can be infected with more than one pathogen. When you contract Lyme it is possible to contract more than just that one disease. This is called a co-infection. It is super important to pay attention to your symptoms. See link.
